Head Girls Volleyball Coach

X• Academy is seeking a visionary and experienced Head Girls Volleyball Coach to lead the development and direction of our entire volleyball program. This position is more than a seasonal coaching role—it is an opportunity to build a legacy through leadership, strategic planning, and athlete development across all age levels.

As the program lead, you will shape the culture, structure, and success of the volleyball program from the varsity level through junior high and elementary development leagues. You will have the authority to recruit and build your coaching staff, design training programs, and implement your vision for excellence on and off the court. This position does not require a teaching position.

Position Details:

• Schedule:
  Varsity season runs August-October
  Practices held 2–3 times per week with a 20+ game schedule including local tournaments
  Oversight and development of year-round programming and feeder systems

• Location:
  Based in Abilene, TX
  Practices and games held at X• Academy partner facilities and gym spaces

• Compensation:
  $5,000 Stipend for the varsity season
  Additional earning opportunities available through camps, clinics, off-season leagues and tournaments, and skill development sessions

• Staffing:
  Full autonomy to recruit, hire, and oversee assistant coaches, junior high coaches, and developmental league coordinators
  Collaborate with the athletic department to align staffing with organizational values and expectations

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the high school varsity team with excellence in preparation, performance, and character

• Set the tone and strategic direction for the entire volleyball program, including junior high and elementary initiatives

• Create and oversee skill development systems and off-season training opportunities

• Build and mentor a strong coaching staff committed to growth, integrity, and competitive success

• Communicate regularly with families, students, and the X• Academy leadership team

• Teaching in our Academic programs is not a requirement for coaching.

• Ambitious/Proven volleyball coach with high-level experience in the game of Volleyball

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to cast vision and build systems

• Excellent communicator and motivator who values player development and character formation

• Organized, dependable, and passionate about creating a high-performing program
