Defensive Coordinator/Asst Basketball/ Baseball/ Track

Haskell HS is seeking a high-energy, passionate, and aggressive Defensive Coordinator to join our coaching staff.  This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives on competition, brings an attacking mindset to the game, and can inspire student-athletes to reach their full potential on and off the field.  This position also includes a teaching assignment, and the expecations for the classroom match the high expectations of this coaching assignment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement an aggressive, high-pressure defensive scheme
• Develop weekly game plans and make in-game adjustments
• Coach and mentor defensive position coaches and players
• Emphasize physicality, discipline, and relentless effort
• Foster a culture of accountability, intensity, and teamwork
• Collaborate with the Head Coach and offensive staff to build a complete, championship-caliber program
• Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic guidelines

Qualifications:

• Prior coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level (Defensive Coordinator experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of defensive strategies, techniques, and player development
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to motivate and connect with students
• Texas Teaching Certification
• CDL or willing to obtain is a must
