Snyder Primary School is searching for an LVN.  
Work on a school schedule, 10 months a year, hybrid calendar, full benefits with summers off! 


Salary Range: $23,023 – $32,448 (summers off!)
Start Date: July 31, 2025

Primary Purpose:

Provide assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and referrals regarding the health and medical care needs of students in order to support student learning and attendance. The LVN will work to reduce health-related barriers to education and contribute to a safe and healthy school environment.


Qualifications:

  • Education/Certification:

    • Current Texas licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

    • Current certification in CPR

  • Special Knowledge/Skills:

    • Knowledge of basic nursing care, health assessment, and emergency procedures

    • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

    • Proficiency using electronic medical records and common office software

    • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents

  • Experience:

    • Successful experience working with children or adolescents preferred

    • Prior school or pediatric setting experience is a plus


Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide direct nursing services to students and staff, including first aid, medication administration, and health screenings

  • Assist with the implementation of a comprehensive school health program

  • Maintain up-to-date health records and documentation in compliance with state and district guidelines

  • Collaborate with families, physicians, and outside agencies to ensure continuity of care

  • Conduct vision, hearing, and scoliosis screenings and follow up on referrals

  • Develop and implement Individualized Health Care Plans (IHPs) as needed

  • Support student attendance by managing chronic health conditions

  • Participate on student support and crisis response teams as needed

  • Educate students and staff on health and wellness topics


Working Conditions:

  • Regular travel between district campuses may be required

  • Frequent exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases

  • Occasional lifting and positioning of students may be required
