QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
Valid Special Education Certificate
Certified Academic Language Therapist
Educational Diagnostician/Licensed School Psychologist
5 years of teaching experience teaching students with disabilities
Knowledge of inclusion strategies and practices
Knowledge of all Texas Education and Administrative Codes related to dyslexia and related disorders
Knowledge of the use of technology in the classroom
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES:
Utilizes a variety of assessment techniques to research the needs and identify resources of special education programs for students with disabilities
Plans and provides professional development in the areas of dyslexia and inclusion
Assists school districts in the implementation of dyslexia programs and inclusionary practices
Assists general and special education teachers in the implementation of educational practices that enhance learning for students with disabilities, including the use of technology to assist access to the general curriculum
Demonstrates leadership in the development of decisions and innovations affecting the education of students with disabilities
POSITION DETAILS:
Salary based on experience
11-month contract
