Student HireAbility Navigator
The Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas Board is seeking applicants for the position of
Student HireAbility Navigator. This is a full-time regular position located in Abilene, Texas. Salary ranges between $4,000-$4,300 per month, depending on education and experience.
The Student HireAbility Navigator focuses on capacity building, system integration, and employer engagement to improve the landscape of pre-employment transition services across the workforce development area. This role is central to coordinating strategic partnerships, promoting resource awareness, and ensuring students with disabilities have access to integrated, supportive, and inclusive pathways to postsecondary education and employment.
This is a responsible position that requires the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other agencies, individuals, and employers. The individual must have strong oral and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills, good computer skills, and the ability to work with diverse populations. The position will require travel within the 19-county region and periodic travel within the state to attend conferences and/or training. Must perform all job functions while maintaining high ethical and professional standards.
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; additional experience in workforce development, education, human services, or a related field preferred.
A minimum of four years of professional experience, preferably within workforce development, vocational rehabilitation, educational programs, or nonprofit services for individuals with disabilities.
Familiarity with VR services and WIOA compliance requirements is advantageous.
Knowledge of federal and state workforce development operations and vocational rehabilitation services and programs is preferred.
