RCISD Instructional Coach

Job Summary
Support teachers in the improvement of classroom instruction through lesson planning, identification of
aligned high-quality instructional materials, and incorporation of research-based instructional strategies
including WICOR and Common Instructional Framework. Assist with regular duties of planning and
implementing PD, providing support to teachers and administrators, helping to troubleshoot technology
issues, entering and analyzing data, modeling in classrooms, and conducting instructional rounds and
observations, and TIL Coaching. The specialty areas in the IC office include differentiation, Research,
science, math, and ELA.


Major Responsibilities and Duties:
? Provide teacher support and professional development, especially in the areas of
differentiation, English Language Arts, Science, and math
? Support teachers’ needs based upon walk-through data and coaching conversations from
campus leadership.
? Provide teacher support in areas where they express needs, such as modeling or finding lessons,
resources, alternate teaching methods, guest speakers, instructional technology, information,
data, data analysis, etc.
? Create district CBA to measure student performance with formative assessments.
? Participate in observations, walk-throughs, and rounds, TIL Coaching
? Provide support in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and lesson planning
? Create Rounds Schedule (Internal & External)
? Check schedules of IC’s, teachers, and principals
? Gather Round sheets with focal questions
? Prepare clipboards for IC’s, teachers, and principals
? Attend Rounds and Debriefs
? Liaison between school and Region Center to plan External Rounds
? Set-up TEKs resource accounts
? Coach teachers on using TEKs Resource
? Use data to drive instructional coaching conversations in the classrooms and within PLCs
identifying adjustments needed in planning and delivery to address gaps in student learning.
? Support teachers and find educational resources
? Provide lesson planning support within the approved scope and sequence for instruction.
? Act as a liaison between the teachers and the administration
? Assist teachers with Eduphoria and various instructional technology programs

? Work with the IC team to plan, implement, and debrief Rounds, in-service days, New Teacher
Orientation, internal and external rounds, observations, etc.
? Work with the IC team to look over lesson plans and provide feedback and professional
development on lesson planning to the teachers
? Work with the leadership team and Site-Based Decision Making (SBDM) teams (elementary,
secondary, and district levels) to make decisions for the campuses/district, participate in the
continuous improvement cycle, develop improvement plans (both DIP and CIP), etc.
? Attend meetings and PLCs as needed
? Assist with the ESF process as needed
? Participate in Texas Instructional Leadership Model
? Assist with Student Research Projects
? Other Duties Assigned
