Primary Purpose:

Coordinate the ARD process on the assigned campuses, including scheduling and conducting ARD meetings. Work cooperatively with administrators and instructional personnel to provide the most appropriate programs for students with disabilities. Responsible for maintaining all special education files and ensures compliance with all IDEA-B regulations and procedures on campus
Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification): Minimum of three years teaching experience preferred, including experience teaching disabled and other students with diverse learning needs; Experience with SuccessEd, or other computer based documentation system preferred. Special Education certification preferred.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of special education, academic and functional development, and learning theories
Knowledge of the Special Education, ARD, and IEP process
Knowledge of prevention and intervention strategies, including behavior management interventions
Strong consultation skills for conferencing with teachers, parents, and students
Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
Competent in working with Microsoft office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and special education student management systems
