Albany ISD is seeking a Head Band Director to join our team to lead the Ragin' Red Band. This position will cover both high school and junior high, as well as the fifth and sixth grade band.
Albany is a small 2A program on the rise, experiencing success with several sweepstakes over the past four years. The band is equipped with new uniforms and updated equipment, and has incredible support from the community and the Albany Band Booster Club.
With just under 2,000 residents, Albany is a tight-knit community with an exciting history founded on the adventurous spirit of the Old West. Albany is immersed with the arts; holding annually the oldest outdoor musical in Texas, the Fort Griffin Fandangle. The Old Jail Art Center is located in Albany, housing over 2,300 pieces ranging from ancient to contemporary art. Albany's historic Aztec Theatre is home to monthly live concerts hosted by Albany Live, plays from the local community theatre group Albany Mainstreet Playhouse, and many other local performances from the community.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university, and a valid Texas teaching certificate in Music EC-12.
