GOAL

Assist districts in designing a strategic plan based on systems-level analysis and principles of effective organizational performance management. Support early implementation by bridging LEAs to capacity-building supports by setting up strong performance management systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certifications:

  • Masters Degree
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with endorsement in area of assignment or appropriate license/certification
  • Superintendent Certification preferred
  • Minimum of one year superintendent experience preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Confident communication (both verbally and in writing) with stakeholders that invests them in the process and builds analysis and planning skills
  • Ability to give frequent feedback to stakeholders on quality of analysis and implementation planning
  • Strong presentation skills leveraging data and vision-based storytelling to inform and invest stakeholders in coaching inputs and outcomes

 MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES

  • Design, deliver, and/or facilitate job-embedded professional development for relevant clients at district, school, or classroom level, including:
    • Whole-group training that build a shared understanding of skills, practices, or systems and include opportunities for practice 
    • Support for participants implementing a new skill, practice, or system within their context, including co-planning, observation, and real-time feedback 
    • One-on-one coaching sessions that identify participant successes and develop their capacity to improve high-leverage areas of growth 
    • Technical assistance that provides direct, responsive training or support to individuals or small groups around compliance, systems, or state requirements 
  • Partner closely with classroom/schools to assess areas in need of capacity building and to develop intentional scope and sequences of professional development aimed at effectively addressing growth areas. 
  • Effectively support stakeholders to analyze data to drive instructional growth (at relevant classroom/school) by identifying areas of strength and opportunity as applicable for their role and context.
  • Contribute to the scaling and aligning of best practices in instruction and/or instructional leadership with other individuals, teams, or departments. 
  • Contribute to building and strengthening the culture of leadership teams.
  • Recruit a pipeline of future districts for participation.
  • Continuously improve and codify the business model to generate revenue.
  • Conduct follow-up check-ins with past participating districts to maintain relationships and provide informal support and knowledge of additional opportunities related to their ongoing needs.
  • Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education Rules, and ESC board policy and procedures.
  • Build conceptual understanding of district data analysis including quantitative and qualitative district inputs, outputs, and outcomes.
  • Partner with the Performance Management & Data Specialist to translate data analysis to streamlined recommendations to districts (gaps, high-leverage priorities, etc.)
  • Analyze available district assets, build an understanding of what is needed, develop a long-term plan in collaboration with the superintendent, and develop standardized systems to effect change.
  • Conduct/support a comprehensive landscape analysis and needs assessment of a district’s current data protocols, systems, and structures.
  • Support district superintendent in understanding gaps and end-to-end planning and performance management systems.
  • Identify and evaluate enabling conditions to actualize a vision around strategic systems and priorities.
  • Facilitate range of conversations with superintendent and district leadership team on root cause reflection, exemplar reflection, analysis, and strategic planning while effectively responding to superintendent replies and reactions.
  • Support superintendent in effective communication and engagement with board, staff, parents, and the broader community.

 POSITION DETAILS

  • 6 month contract,  Paygrade 4
  • Salary Based on Experience
