Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, responsible, and energetic Daycare Worker to join our childcare team in providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children from infancy through age 5. The ideal candidate will support children’s emotional, physical, and cognitive development while maintaining compliance with all Texas Health and Human Services (HHSC) Child Care Licensing standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and ensure the safety of children at all times.

  • Assist in creating and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.

  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and coworkers.

  • Support daily routines including meals, nap times, diapering, and bathroom use.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary classroom and play area.

  • Observe and document child behavior, development, and concerns; communicate effectively with parents and supervisors.

  • Follow and enforce all Texas Minimum Standards for Child-Care Centers.

  • Attend staff meetings, required training, and continuing education courses as mandated by state regulations (24 hours annually).

  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and incidents in accordance with daycare policies and procedures.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • At least 18 years of age (per Texas licensing regulations).

  • Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education preferred.

  • Must pass a criminal background check and FBI fingerprinting, as required by Texas law.

  • Current Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and actively engage with children indoors and outdoors.


Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of child development principles.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.


Work Environment:

  • Indoor and outdoor childcare environments.

  • May involve standing, walking, lifting, and playing on the floor with children.
