GOALS:

  • Provide Lesson Study professional development and technical assistance for teachers in curriculum areas in grades K-12.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding of and experience with Texas Lesson Study
  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the Texas Essential knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
  • Minimum five years of successful teaching experience with instructional coaching or campus administration experience preferred.
  • Experience providing professional development for teachers.
  • Experience with digital content and developing instructional resources (preferred).
  • Self-Starter who can make decisions and create plan of action for implementing program goals.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES:

  • Organize staff and resources to carry out requirements of the Texas Lesson Study project.
  • Assist in identifying project needs and develop goals, objectives, and procedures (protocols) for meeting those needs.
  • Design and implement systems for measuring the effectiveness of the lesson study project.
  • Establish project priorities for the most efficient use of available resources to reach identified objectives.
  • Demonstrate leadership in the development of decisions and innovations affecting the project.
  • Attend all Lesson Study trainings and meetings.
  • Train campus staff in lesson study implementation.
  • Maintain effective communication with partner ESCs, TEA, and district/campus staff.
  • Provide technical assistance to support the project.
  • Recruit and retain districts, campuses, and/or participants into Lesson Study Project.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

  • Salary dependent upon years of educational experience, pay grade 2
  • Participation in Texas Teacher Retirement System.
  • Health insurance benefits.

POSITION DETIALS:

  • Re-employment contingent upon funding and/or evaluation of duties.
  • Reports to Tina Wyatt, Associate Director for Certification and State Initiatives.
