Job Summary:
Cross Plains High School is seeking a dedicated Academic Advisor to support student success through academic planning, scheduling, transcript management, credit recovery, and postsecondary readiness. This position plays a vital role in helping students meet graduation requirements while preparing for college, career, or military pathways.
Key Responsibilities:
Guide students in course selection, graduation planning, and credit recovery options.
Maintain accurate academic records and oversee transcript management.
Lead college, career, and military readiness (CCMR) initiatives.
Assist students with college applications, scholarships, FAFSA/TASFA, and other financial aid resources.
Partner with students and parents to support academic progress and postsecondary goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
Texas Counselor or Principal Certification preferred.
Experience in academic advising, student records, and college/career readiness.
Strong communication, organization, and data analysis skills.
Familiarity with Ascender or similar student information systems preferred.
