Westbrook ISD is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Second Grade Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about helping students strengthen foundational literacy and mathematics skills while creating a classroom environment that is engaging, structured, and supportive.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Valid Texas EC–6 Core Subjects teaching certification
- Reading Academy certification preferred
- ESL certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Instructional Expectations
- Implement district-adopted Bluebonnet Learning reading and mathematics curriculum
- Deliver high-quality instruction aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)
- Utilize assessment data to drive instruction and support student growth
- Build strong foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of foundational reading instruction, handwriting development, and early mathematics concepts
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners
- Maintain a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administrators to support student success
