Roscoe Collegiate ISD is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Dyslexia Interventionist to join our team! Responsibilities:
1. Provide targeted intervention and support to students identified with dyslexia, employing evidence-based practices and interventions.
2. Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students with dyslexia, utilizing appropriate screening tools and diagnostic assessments.
3. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other educational professionals to develop individualized intervention plans for students with dyslexia.
4. Implement structured, multi-sensory instructional strategies tailored to meet the unique needs of students with dyslexia.
5. Monitor student progress and make data-driven decisions to adjust interventions and instructional approaches as needed.
6. Maintain accurate records of student interventions, progress, and assessment results.
7. Serve as a resource for teachers, providing guidance and support in implementing strategies to accommodate students with dyslexia in the classroom.
8. Stay current with research and best practices in dyslexia intervention, attending professional development opportunities and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field.
2. Certification in Dyslexia Intervention or Orton-Gillingham training strongly preferred.
3. Experience working with students with dyslexia or other specific learning disabilities.
4. Knowledge of dyslexia screening tools, diagnostic assessments, and intervention strategies.
5. Familiarity with assistive technologies and accommodations for students with dyslexia.
6. Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
7. Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students with dyslexia reach their full potential.
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
