Job Summary:
Jim Ned is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and hands-on Agricultural Science Teacher to join our Career and Technical Education (CTE) team, this is an added position to the program due to increased interest and engagement. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality instruction in Principles of Agriculture as well as Animal Science and/or Agriculture Mechanics. A background and passion for sheep and goat management are highly preferred to support our growing livestock program. This position includes FFA advisory duties and supervision of student projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruction: Develop and deliver engaging, hands-on curriculum in Principles of Ag,  as well as Animal Science and/or Shop Classes
  • Small Ruminant Focus: Manage the school’s sheep/goat project center, teach nutrition, health, and breeding for small ruminants, and assist students with show projects.
  • FFA/SAE Supervision: Serve as an FFA Advisor, coordinating activities, contests, and traveling to shows. Oversee student Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects.
  • Program Growth: Maintain classroom, shop, and laboratory facilities, keeping them clean, safe, and organized.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Education, Animal Science, or related field.
  • Valid State Teaching Certificate in Agriculture Science (6-12).
  • Preferred: Proven experience or strong knowledge in sheep and goat husbandry.
  • Preferred: Background in welding and metal fabrication for shop classes.
  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for hauling livestock/students to competitions.
