Your Role
As a High School Counselor, you’ll play a key role in supporting students as they navigate their academic journey, plan their career paths, and build the social-emotional skills needed for success. You’ll guide students through their high school experience while preparing them for college, careers, and beyond.

What You’ll Do

• Support Academic Success: Provide individualized counseling to help students develop education plans and track academic progress.
• Prepare for the Future: Help students plan for college, certifications, and careers through personalized advising and workshops.
• Celebrate Milestones: Assist with graduation requirements, college applications, scholarships, and the FAFSA process.
• Create a Safe Space: Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment where students can thrive emotionally and socially.
• Inspire Growth: Use data to guide students in making informed decisions about their high school endorsements and career pathways.
• Collaborate with the Community: Work with parents, teachers, and outside resources to support student success.
• Coordinate Testing Programs: Manage assessments like PSAT, SAT, AP, and TSIA II and help students interpret test results.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Education: Master’s degree in Guidance Counseling or a related field.
• Certification: Valid Texas Counseling Certification.
• Experience: Minimum of three years of teaching experience (grades 7-12) and three years of counseling experience preferred.
• Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and families.
