Knox City-O'Brien CISD is a rural school district in West Texas with a deep tradition of excellence—in academics, athletics, and especially in music education. Serving approximately 195 students PK3–12, our 6–12 secondary campus is home to about 90 students and a high-achieving band program with a history of statewide success.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music education and marching band leadership, a commitment to student success, and a collaborative spirit. You’ll be leading and mentoring talented students who are excited to learn and perform—supported by a community that takes pride in its band program.

Direct and manage the Knox City Secondary Band Program (grades 6–12)

Lead all aspects of the marching and concert band seasons, including contest preparation

Coordinate and supervise band performances at UIL events, football games, pep rallies, parades, and community events

Provide engaging music instruction in both group and individual settings

Maintain equipment, instruments, and inventory

Collaborate with staff, parents, and community to promote program growth and student achievement

Manage budget and coordinate fundraising efforts as needed

Ensure student eligibility and adherence to UIL and district policies
