Qualifications

  • Minimum 1+ years physical therapy experience required (preferably in the schools)
  • Education: Master's or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program
  • License: Valid TXstate license to practice physical therapy
  • Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a school-based environment and contribute to a positive and supportive team culture
  • Passion: Genuine passion for working with children and a commitment to promoting their physical well-being

Responsibilities

  • Full / Part Time (4 /5 days per week)

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify students' physical therapy needs and develop individualized plans
  • Intervention and Treatment: Provide evidence-based physical therapy interventions to address students' challenges, improve motor skills, and enhance overall functional abilities
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into the students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, caregivers, and school staff regarding students' progress, treatment plans, and remendations
  • Documentation: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of assessments, interventions, and progress reports in compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Professional Development: Stay current with advancements in pediatric physical therapy and participate in relevant professional development opportunities

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified School-Based Physical Therapist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students to enhance their physical well-being, improve mobility, and support overall development. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students while collaborating with educators and parents.  The PT will serve the students within the Taylor-Callahan Education Cooperative (TCEC).  Member districts include:  Baird ISD; Clyde CISD; Eula ISD; Jim Ned CISD; Merkel ISD; and Trent ISD.  Travel within the CoOp is reimbursed at the state mileage rate.
