Clyde Elementary - 1st Grade Teacher

Position Overview: Clyde Elementary is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 1st Grade Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment where young students can develop foundational academic, social, and emotional skills. You will be responsible for creating engaging lesson plans that meet curriculum standards while adapting teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles. The candidate will collaborate with colleagues, staff, and parents to ensure the success and well-being of all students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans that engage young learners in core subjects such as reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.
• Use a variety of instructional strategies to encourage active student participation and cater to individual learning styles.
• Assess student progress through observations, assignments, tests, and other evaluation methods.
• Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages mutual respect, creativity, and curiosity.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.
• Implement classroom management strategies to maintain an orderly and conducive learning environment.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and concerns.
• Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school’s culture of continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, staff, and administration to ensure a cohesive educational experience for all students.
• Ensure adherence to school policies, district regulations, and state educational standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification
• ESL certification preferred
• Previous experience working with young children is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create a warm, supportive, and structured classroom environment.
• Proficiency in integrating technology into instruction to enhance student learning.
