Description

GOAL

The intern position will provide support to Texas Education Agency federal staff at the TEA office and Region 14 ESC State Initiative staff, as requested, by phone, digital communication, and face to face.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Demonstrates efficiency of general office skills
  • Experience utilizing technology
  • Willingness to acquire new skills
  • Effective communication skills

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES

  • Research laws, requirements, and evidence-based best practices in school drug and violence prevention, safety, mental health, positive school environment, bullying, harassment, abuse prevention, and other areas
  • Schedule meetings and appointments
  • Gather and enter information for needed projects
  • Have excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to proofread, revise, and edit materials
  • Create and prepare  safety and security materials
  • Computing skills with Microsoft, Google, and other similar programs
  • Other duties as needed

 

POSITION DETAILS

  • 20 hours per week
  • Office at Texas Education Agency in Austin, TX
