Goals

  • Assist with school improvement by facilitating the adoption and/or implementation of high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) including open-education resources (OER) and research-based instructional strategies (RBIS).
  • Conduct academic audits as part of the Effective School Framework (ESF).
  • Provide other supports as needed through planning, organizing, and providing professional learning, coaching, and technical assistance to teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree preferred
  • Texas teacher certification in elementary education
  • Five years successful teaching experience in elementary grades
  • Knowledge of research-based best practices in classroom instruction
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in providing customer service
  • Experience conducting professional development preferred
  • Skilled in using technology required to meet job requirements
  • Self-starter with the ability to make decisions and create plan of action for implementing program goals

Performance Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide k – 5 math and/or literacy comprehensive TIER 1 instructional supports and practices, including curriculum implementation, instructional leadership, and planning.
  • Provide training in Research-Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS) and assist the local education agency (LEA) in building an instructional framework that aligns to RBIS.
  • Provide information to districts about high-quality instructional materials including Open-Education Resources available to Region 14 districts.
  • Plan and organize content-specific professional learning sessions for teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators to facilitate successful implementation of High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM).
  • Provide product specific professional learning to teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators on effectively implementing HQIM by leading unit and lesson internalization sessions and providing guidance in lesson rehearsal.
  • Evaluate the extent to which objectives have been met to determine future goals and objectives.
  • Model effective instructional practices for teachers and administrators.
  • Support other initiatives within Region 14 Education Service Center as needed.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary dependent upon years of educational experience, Pay grade 2
  • 11 or 12-month contract

Position Details

  • Position funded by contracted services with districts through August 31, 2025 and is dependent upon yearly grant renewal
  • Supportive and positive work environment
  • Frequent travel within Region 14 service area and occasional statewide, overnight travel required
  • Reports to Tina Wyatt, Director for Certification and State Initiatives
