Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic High School Science Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for science and a commitment to inspiring students to explore and understand the world around them. As a Science Teacher, you will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging science lessons that align with curriculum standards, fostering a positive learning environment, and guiding students in their scientific inquiries and discoveries.

Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Development:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive, age-appropriate curriculum aligned with state standards and educational best practices.
    • Create lesson plans that incorporate a variety of instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
    • Foster a love of learning through hands-on activities, group projects, and interactive lessons.
  2. Classroom Management:
    • Establish and maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.
    • Implement effective behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior and address challenging behaviors when necessary.
    • Organize classroom materials, resources, and labs to facilitate independent exploration and discovery.
  3. Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
    • Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and identify areas for growth.
    • Use assessment data to differentiate instruction and provide targeted interventions to support individual student needs.
    • Communicate student progress to parents through regular progress reports, parent-teacher conferences, and other forms of communication.
  4. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and coordinate interdisciplinary activities, events, and projects.
    • Maintain open and ongoing communication with parents regarding student progress, classroom activities, and school events.
    • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and other school-related activities as required.
  5. Professional Development:
    • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in science education.
    • Seek out opportunities for growth and improvement, including attending workshops, conferences, and pursuing additional certifications or credentials.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification/license in Science (Secondary level).
  • Previous teaching experience in a high school setting preferred.
  • Strong content knowledge and passion for science.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching and learning.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
  • Collaborative mindset and willingness to work as part of a team.
